My First Blog

” if you were born with the weakness to fall, you were born with the strength to rise”

— Rupi Kaur.

Hello and welcome to my blog! Ever since I was a little girl, I have always found that I had my own little special way to express myself. This was called poetry! As I grew older and began to deal with new emotions and face different situations, I began to seek solitude and comfort in writing my own personal poems, allowing me to unload how I was feeling and more importantly make sense of them. When I stumbled across the poetry book ” Milk and Honey”, I found myself faced with the reality that I was not alone! Others too such as Kaur use poetry to express their raw emotions using simple, straightforward and often blunt language.

Being a girl of Indian heritage, Rupi stood out to me as an author and poet. It is difficult to say the least to find writers to relate to, when most are not of the same ethnic background as you, as so may not write about topics which are relevant to you. Simply the fact that Rupi is of Indian heritage inspires me, as it paves the path fro other young Indian females such as myself in the writing industry, for which I am grateful.

Personal poetry blog post

A little tipple about me!

Hello and welcome to my blog! Here is a little bit of background information about me: I am 18 year olds, and am of Indian heritage. Through trying to explore my heritage and engage more with my background, I stumbled across an Indian-born Canadian poet- the brilliance who is Rupi Kaur! Her enticing poetry has featured across her countless books, as well as through her Instapoetry. This is a fork of poetry which uses the social media platform Instagram, and I too wish to share my poetry using the same platform very soon! So hold tight folks and watch the space, as my sheer passion for love and romantic poetry continues! I hope you all share the same fascination for such a beautiful art form as I do 🙂

In this blog I would love to attract fellow poetry lovers and enthusiasts, in particular those who can cherish , admire and perhaps even relate to very raw and personal poetry, such as conveyed in Kaur’s work.

From this blog I hope not only to collate together views and opinions of Rupi’s poetry, however would love to hear the suggestions and ideas from you all- my fellow poetry readers! Broadening my own awareness and knowledge of other various poets is something I would love to achieve from this blog, and hopefully if this succeeds then further along the line I would love to publish my own romantic poetry 🙂
